About Troop 516

Troop 516 is part of the Wright Brothers District of the Miami Valley Council and is sponsored by Southminster Presbyterian Church in Centerville, Ohio. Troop 516 holds its meetings every Monday night at 7:00pm in Southminster's Fellowship Hall.

Troop 516 goes on weekend campouts once every month, and annually goes to summer camp and has at least one high adventure trip.

What is Scouting?

The goal of Scouts BSA is to train youth in responsible citizenship, character development, and self-reliance through participation in a wide range of outdoor activities, educational programs, and, at older age levels, career-oriented programs in partnership with community organizations. For younger members, the Scouting method is part of the program to inculcate typical Scouting values such as honesty, good citizenship, and outdoor skills, through a variety of activities such as camping, aquatics, and hiking.

Membership & Recruiting

Our doors are always open for new membership! Whether you're crossing over from Cub Scouts, just moved to the area, or want to try something new! Stop by any of our troop meetings for an introduction, or contact our Scoutmaster with any questions.

We are forming a girls troop for Scouts BSA at Southminster Presbyterian Church, Troop 515, which will be linked to and operate alongside the existing Troop 516 for boys. Feel free to stop by one of our meetings on Monday nights at 7:00pm. Learn how Scouts BSA expands the iconic BSA program to all youth to provide "Family Scouting". For more information please refer to this Troop 515 Flyer or you can contact our Family Scouting / Troop 515 Coordinators.
